What is Arboriculture?
Arboriculture is the cultivation, management, and study of trees, shrubs, and other perennial woody plants. Arboriculture involves various practices related to the care and maintenance of trees. Arborists, or professionals in arboriculture, are trained to assess and address the needs of individual trees and larger tree populations in urban, suburban, and rural environments.
Key aspects of arboriculture include tree planting, pruning, trimming, disease diagnosis and treatment, pest management, soil management, risk assessment, and tree removal when necessary. Arborists often work to promote the well-being of trees in various settings, such as residential areas, parks, streets, and commercial properties. Their goal is to enhance the health and longevity of trees while ensuring their compatibility with the surrounding environment and human activities.
What is a Consulting Arborist?
A Consulting Arborist is an Arboriculture professional holding a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Arboriculture, recognized as AQF Level 5 within the Australian Framework Qualification. This qualification equips the Arborist to assess and offer comprehensive insights into available options for managing tree assets.
